Default rearset question

Hi guys

I put some Woodcraft rearsets on my 01 SV650 yesterday and found out they do not allow the use of the brake lever return spring. So does that mean once I use it, I'll be dragging the rear brake because the pressure won't fully release? I'm assuming that's not correct because of safety issues, but then what's the point of the spring in the first place?

You need to either modify the stock spring or find another one. If it's not too far off, you can carefully change the bend at the top of the straight part of the spring to adjust to the new length. The spring does 2 things. One is to operate the light switch IIRC and the second is to return the pedal to the top when you take your foot off of it.
