2001 CBR 929 won't start

Fall of 2008 my son bought a used 2001 929 with about 10,000 miles on it. We trailer it home and rode it a couple of times near the house. He parked it in the garage and started several times as it began to get cold outside. One day it wouldn't start, the fuel injection can be heard and it cranks but won't turn over. Trying to start it eventually kills the battery and he puts it on the trickle charger. We lifted the tank up and checked the air cleaner. The valves open when you turn the throttle and I see fuel mist spraying in. We even tried a small dose of starting fluid but nothing (no start). If a plug was bad it would at least begin to turn over right?

if you're that far into the engine, i'd say clean spark plugs, new fuel, put the battery on a charger and start cranking it over. if it floods then give it full throttle, hold it at that and crank it over to de flood the engine.

can you hear it alteast trying to fire up at all?

if the injectors are spraying,, then you have no spark,,, spark plugs can be pulled and checked but since there out you might as well change them,,,

its either a firing issue or carb problem,,, but sure sounds like a firing issue,,, check the kill switch on the handle bar and rock it back and forth while crankin it,,, i've seen them corode up on the inside if it was ever getting rained on

STRICKLY BUSINESS

yes it sounds normal like it is trying to start just never turns over. We pulled the center two plugs out and my son was about to pull the outside ones out, I just thought before he did that we may find out something online.

I mean it sounds normally but it doesn't get that turning over sound, like it is firing up. The first couple of times we tried to start it after it wouldn't start a small cloud of smoke would exit the muffler and you hear a slight sound like it wanted to fire. But know all it does is turn over and all you hear is the starter.

I might have the same problem

the only way I can get the bike started is using jumper leads on a car and have the car reving so there is a higher voltage going to the bike (it starts immediately every time I do this). Ive tried replacing the battery

You can jump your bike from a car but the car SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING. You will damage the electrics on the bike. A fully charged, GOOD bike battery should start the bike (as if your jumping it). As stated earlier it may not be charging once started however you need a full charge to get it to run...
