Default 07 Ninja 250r

Hey everyone im planning on buying this 07 blue ninja 250. The only problem is that the owner of this used car dealer bought it for his son, But hes in jail so he cant ride it, at an auction for 3200 in january. So hes selling it and i went to look at it today. I has 193 miles on it been downed once with a couple quater size scrapes. Cant really notice it. Pretty much brand new looking. The only problem is that when he goes it start it the battery is dead. He goes to jump it and starts it up. The bike runs pretty bad. carbs arent synced. And the idle is all over the place. Choke has to be used to make bike stay running. after 30 mins of trying to get this bike going, no luck. I offer him 1750 cash as is. What do you guys think is the problem here. carbs need cleaning? needs to be synced? Obviously a new battery also...Any ideas? Remember new ass bike 193 miles Should i even buy it? First bike . Thanks ALL

Its an 07 with under 200 miles and has that much trouble?

I don't know what the problem is, but I wouldn't give him any more than $1750 for it.

Actually, the more I think about it, I would say stay away, the whole thing sounds shady.

1. Used car dealer, not judging, but he may know how to tamper with things, like the odometer.

2. The owner (his son) is in jail. Once again, not judging, but gives a little insight to the charachter.

3. There is no way that bike should be running that bad if it is truly an '07 with <200 miles.

I'm wondering if they parted out the engine and stuff, then threw an old cheap one in? Or even did some VIN tricks to make you think it is a new bike when in reality its 12 years old or something. I would imagine the odometer on the 250 is not the most advanced and possible to roll back.

Bottom line, I would probably stay away, unless you can really verify the bike is legit. I would definatly start by comparing the VINs on the registration, frame, and engine. Make sure the engine is the same.

Oh, and if he paid $3200 at an auction he's either lying or completely FAILs at being a used car dealer.

The more I think about it, I'd run away. Something doesn't smell right.

well everything looks new and shinny. I also check the vin with the dealership and it still has 2 months of warranty. I explained the problem and they said the carbs need to be cleaned because of improper storage. The bike hasnt been started for 3 months so i guess this seems alright. He had the paper work to show me what he paid for it... but you may never know...

Well, maybe its cool. I would just check the engine vins against the frame and registration.

Why dont you buy the 08 ninja 250?? msrp is 3499.. just a few hundred dollars more than what he wants for it... plus.. brand new.. never been down... redesigned... and no problems... warranty... just my opinion and a thought for you..
