Default *Slip-ons* DO I need to rejet!?

Hi all- I'm buying an a slip-on for my 2002 sv650s. It is carbureted not fuel injected- would a slip-on require rejetting? Anyone have experience with this?? Please post or PM, thanks a bunch!

The slip-on manufacturer could tell you better but as a general rule it is not required for a slip-on.

Depends on the elevation, normally.

But with a slip on, you should not need to re-jet if your air filter is bone-stock. The air filter makes a much bigger difference than the exhaust does as far as the A/F mixture goes, just FYI.

Rejetting these bikes even with the stock muffler makes a difference, though.

FYI- called yoshimura direct and they say no rejet is required and that they have had no complaints on that issue. Thanks again for the helpful tips!
