Default Carb Sync help...

Is there any simple (can be done) way to manually sync my carbs with no manometer or sticks? I have tried the "build it yourself" tool with the yard stick and tubes but it just sucked water into my carbs. I just need to get them sync'ed. I am getting a carbon knock and my sylinders are fighting each other for fire. Please help.

1.) Try using a heavier liquid, like motor oil.

2.) You can try doing a bench sync. Take the carbs off a bike and get a guitar string (bum one off a musician friend or get one from the music store. I used the three thinnest strings of a six pack - mine had a green/purple/silver ball ends). What you want to do is slide the appropriately gauged wire underneath the butterfly valve and adjust the gap until you feel a slight resistance on the wire. The guitar string will slide in between the crack of the butterfly valve and the body of the carb. Try not to nick the surface of either. Do the same for each butterfly valve until they are all relatively at the same height/position.

This is not an entirely accurate way to sync the carbs, but it should be enough to get it to start and idle okay - more syncing will need to be done.

Water is heavier than oil
Get the carb sticks or pay someone to do it. It needs to be done right

Poor wording - use a "thicker" liquid.

Here is a link here to build a slightly more sophisticated home made manometer than the yardstick type one. Takes another trip to the hardware store but it wont suck fluid into the engine if the pressure difference is too big.

Hope that helps
