Default New Clutch, Some Questions?

I was reading up on a Post and I have a few questions that need some attention.
ZX6 vs. SV650S

I own a 2005 Yamaha R6 and recently replaced the stock clutch with a Barrett Carbon Fiber Racing Clutch. Before the clutch would disengage halfway threw the lever release point, but after replacing the clutch, I could only adjust the cables to release the clutch with no lever play. I think this is why my bike is slipping under hard acceleration when quick shifting usually between 3rd and 4th. The problem was not an issue untell replacing the clutch. Just Wondering If I might have installed it wrong because I do not get the same play in the release point as I used to. A Longer Clutch Cable would Prob. fix the problem but I was just wondering if it were possible to adjust the clutch from inside the clutch casing. Maybe the Pull rod that pulls the basket apart might have to many teeth gripping the lever on the clutch casing conected to the Clutch cable? LOL Anyone Know whats up. Any info would be nice thanks.

All the plates should be the same thicness unless they are the last plate which is different (sometimes). Does your bike have cable adjusters close to the clutch basket lever? If so are they at their loose setting? On some bikes the clutch lever is geared to the throw out shaft and it is possible to get the sequence wrong which would make the clutch cable either too loose or too tight.

sounds like to me u need to adjust your clutches, u can adjust them from a screw on the left side handle bar by the clutch lever, or down on the clutch basket to your likeings

Yeah, I adjusted the Cable up top by the clutch lever, and down low by the
clutch itself.

The Barret Friction and Steel Plates were all the same thickness.

I think Veefer97 was correct
"n some bikes the clutch lever is geared to the throw out shaft and it is possible to get the sequence wrong which would make the clutch cable either too loose or too tight"

I Installed it before I left for my deployment to the Desert LOl, about 3+ months ago. About to come home soon, so my gears started turning about why my bike was fucked up.

I'm going to have to change my oil anywhoo, so does anyone have any input on reinstalling it?

I'm not sure about your r6 but the r1 is pretty much the same exept it's upside down. You have to make sure you line up the mark on the pull lever with the mark on the clutch cover when you install the pull lever onto the shaft. Does your r6 have those marks and if so did you align them?

Don't let the clutch slip otherwise you'll be needing a new one shortly.

You know, I really dont rem. checking that. I must have skipped doing that when I was installing it. Thanks for the Pic. Where did you access that. I bought A vid. before I changed the clutch out that explains all the general maint. and performance addons, and how to install them. I'll def be reinstalling the cover when I get home cuz the fluids are gonna have to get changed anywhoo. Thanks

No problem.

Got it from my R1 manual. Can't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure you don't have to take off the cover. You can just take off the clip off the shaft and slide off that pull lever. Then put it back on to where the marks align.

I would take the cover off as the internal alignment may be thrown off by removing the lever from the shaft.
