Default my brake light wont turn off even when the key is out of the ignition

its my dads a honda shadow500 1981(I think)

any ideas?

sorry..the light gets really bright when pressure is applied to the brakes so i guess it is some sort of back light

Its weird it is still on even though the bike is off and everything

I guess we better unhook the battery

HAHA sorry if I wasted anyones time thankyou for the prompt responses

turned out instead of 'off' he had it on 'P' (parking) its especially funny because hes been meaning to fix it for a while..haha I can see why they put the parking AFTER the 'ON' instead of OFF on my ninja 250..I didnt even know they had Park...weird...

wow I have a lot to learn haha!
