Default Suspension settings and exhaust problems

I ride a 03 Kawa ZX6RR that I picked up used a while back. The guy I bought it from had the suspension torqued as tight as possible, and lost the adjustment tool. Does anyone have recommended settings for this bike? I softened up the front end but can't get the rear w/o the tool, and its really affecting my corners. Its going to be a pain to adjust, so I want to put it at a good recommended setting and work from there rather than going at it blind.

Also, my exhaust valves are tapping. The local shop told me to put fuel injector cleaner both in my gas tank and mixed in with my oil the next time I change it. Has anyone ever heard of this? It sounds fishy to me, but I'm more accoustomed to working on jet turbines. I'm not entirely sure how putting an extremely flammable additive in my engine lube is going to make my valves seat properly.

Its a double spanner I believe (rear shock) take a screwdriver or drift and tap the top ring loose...........have a friend hold the bike up off the ground on the kickstand and knock the second one counterclockwise and youll take preload off.

(realize this is the ghetto way to do it as I expect you dont have many bike tools)

or buy a spanner wrench and have at it.

Fuel injector cleaner does zero for valve tap. It will clean the residual gum off the neck of the valve if you use it constantly...........but it wont take any noise away.

I dont know if it really is tap or if its just the natural loud kawasaki noise.........they are notorious for it and have all kinds of sound deadener blocks to hide it.

If you can work with turbines you can work with this stuff..........I always say "It aint going to the fucking moon, is it?"

In this case..............most definetly not.

The tap isn't intrusive, I didn't notice it at first. The person who pointed it out to me was a mechanic at a shop where I had some new tires mounted, and he promptly offered to adjust my valves for a nominal fee.

The Honda riders I hang out with act like the thing is going to blow up any second. Guess I'll take it to a Kawa shop and get a branded opinion. I got a new Muzzy titanium system put on today so maybe that will help develop the situation.

Hands down, Honda has the best valve train Ive ever seen from the factory. So they would sat shit like that.

Kaws make noise..........

I wouldnt sweat it, youll know that the thing needs help if it does. It will make lots of noise and have a hard time starting cold.
