Default Gsxr problem..... electrical???

on my 02 gsxr 1k when I leave in the morning, and go a couple of blocks, the headlight flickers along with my instument cluster. I don't feel any difference in the motor running (it doesn't cut out) but my speedometer drops to zero and my rpm needle drops when my headlight flickers. This only lasts for about 10 min and then it stops after I open her up a little on the highway. It also takes a minute to get it started when cold. When I charge my battery, its on the charger for like 10min and the charger reads "charged" anyone have any ideas...... Thanks

Fatboy

How old is the battery? Usually about 3 years is about all you can get of them.

Check the wiring harness for shorts and check your fuses to make sure they are all secure.

Almost sounds like a short and when things warm up something expands allowing it to make good contact.

It would actually be an 'open' condition. Shorts and Opens are opposites of each other. A short will usually cause a blown fuse, an open will usually cause no power to get the circuit.

Yeah. Thanks, I used the wrong term - I kind of always use it generically for 'things that aren't making contact in the way they were intended'.
