Default 04 cbr 600rr need to clear one thing up

cbr wats up guys just a quik qeustion my cbr 600rr has a clear hexigon glass peace to show me if oil is low. thing is i cant see anything there so i guess the oil is over the guage. i dont see any thing lightin up in the cockpit no indication of low oil so i think the oil is just really clear. but get back to me . i ant 100 percent on this and ps give me a brake im a newb but lookin foward to being a fix my self kinda guy. gatta get to know her inside and out. you gatta be intamet with your love. although intamesy is not my best feild. thanks guys

You wont see any oil through the inspection panel if the bike is on the stand. You need to get the bike upright in the riding position, then the oil should be around 1/2 to 3/4 high.....

New oil will be clear and whatever color it is, but not invisible. Old oil will be darker as it gets dirty. With the bike on the side stand the oil level will be below the bottom of the window. Tilt the bike upright and look at the sight glass. Use either a rear stand, a helper, or be really careful. There are usually full and low lines next to the glass. The level should be checked with the engine warmed up, turned off, and sitting for about 1 minute. Properly filled with oil, it might be a little higher than the full line when cold and with the bike upright.

With the bike on a rear stand, you can watch the oil level change when you start the bike. It will go below the bottom of the glass in a second or two once the engine is running. Once you shut the engine off, the level will rise in the glass over 30-60 seconds (again with the bike upright). HTH
