Default I need some carb bowl gaskets?

I am redoing the carbs on a project bike, 92 cbr600, the orings on the fuel t's and the rubber ring used for the bowl gasket are both dried out and not reusable. I called around and the only thing I could find was an entire gasket/o-ring set for the carbs. Since I don't need the whole thing, does anyone sell these parts seperate or am I just going to have to cough up the 25 bucks apiece for the gasket set.

Another side note regarding jetting on this bike. It has a slip on 2 Brothers muffler and individual foam air filters. Currently the bike has 160 main jets and 40 for idle jet, does this sound appropriate or not.

Thanks for the help
Tim

A little update,

I looked the bike over more closely a bit ago, and found that the engine says 893cm^3 on the side of it, so looks like somone prior to me put a cbr900 engine in it?

I guess that changes the carb questions some. Is the carb the same on the 600 and 900cc cbr's? And if so, what should my main and idle jets be at for a 900cc engine with individual foam air filters and slip on exhaust?

Thanks a lot
Tim

you might try www.bikebandit.com they have exploded diagrams with individual part #'s and prices for each part. then you could order it there or at a local dealership. i've had good luck with them.

You should be able to get the o-rings at a local hardware store. Just take one in. They usually carry them in all sizes. The float bowl gasket, though, i don't know. I've only seen them in complete kits.

I guess I just as well shell out the cash and get an entire o-ring set for each carb, at least I won't have to worry about an o-ring failing for a while then.

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a 600cc carb and a 900cc carb? I measured across the butterfly in the carb and its around 37-38cm as close as i could eyeball it. I just need to know which kit to order.

Also as far as jetting is concerned, What would the stock jetting be on a 900cc carb, and where should I start at with foam filters and slip on exhaust?

Thanks again.

The carb model/size should be somewhere on the carb? Though I don't think i've ever looked for it.. I would think you've got the 900 carbs.

I would hope it's already jetted properly. What's the point in putting a whole 'nother engine in if you're not gonna even jet it correct? It'll run worse than the 600 without jetting properly. Are the needles stock (unadjustable) or aftermarket (have a clip that you can move to raise/lower the needle)? If aftermarket, you have a jet kit and it's probably done right. Dynojet has instructions in each kit that tells you what you need for different intake/exhaust mods. You need a stage 3. You can get the instructions online, or you can call dynojet directly and they'll tell you. Same for FactoryPro (makers of another brand of jet kits, liked more here, though i've never had experience with them).

but from personal experience, ditch the foam filters. stock airbox is tuned, and you're gonna have flat spots that are a pita to get rid of. Though I'm not sure if a stock airbox is even an option for you.

I really have no idea what was done before getting the bike, so I hope that the previous person put it together correctly. It wasn't running when I picked it up, got it for free from a guy for helping him with his house. Thought it would be a decent project to mess with this spring.

Is there even any way that a 600cc carb would fit on a 900cc engine?

It might be a good idea for me to buy one of the kits so that I can be sure that the jets are correct. I was able to read 160 on the bottom of one of the middle jets, but wasn't able to see anything on the rest of them.

Thanks for the help
Tim
