I use Honda spray cleaner on my whole bike. Kinda like a cleaner/wax stuff. Cleans grime off, and bug splatters wipe off easily. For cleaning the tougher stuff I use PPG wax and grease remover. It's main purpose is for cleaning stuff before painting.

For cleaning I use Jet A turbine fuel (kerosene) on a warm chain. When I'm ready to clean my chain I'll sump a little fuel from the airplanes tanks at work. Most people just use kerosene since it's readily available and won't harm the seals.
After the chains clean, I make sure its dry and use a spray wax to lube.

I use soap and water to clean the bike and then honda polish. I've used wd40 sprayed on a rag to clean off the rear wheel grime, but make sure you don't get any on the tires.
