Electrical Problem with 99 YZF R6

This is what happened I was riding on one of the few 60 degree days a few months ago and my engine fuel light came on as soon as I put it into the shed and went to start the bike a month or so later.. then the bike wouldnt even turn over or anything so i figured the battery was dead so I took the battery out and charged it kept it on the charger and in the basement for a while... I went to start it the other day with a charged battery and whn i turn the key to the on position it made like a humming noise the eleectrical part of it and when I went to turn it over there was a relay near the battery box that kept on clicking and everything.. I have had problems with the ignition where you have to put the key in a certain way to get it to turn over but now nothing is happeneing when i turn the key the motor isnt trying to turn over and the starter isnt even trying to start all that happens is the clicking noise and the battery had 12 volts when i checked it with a meter and it had less than 10 when i checked it afterward any one else have an issue similar...?

Battery was dead and not fully recharged when you tried to start the bike. If the electrics come on including the fuel pump (humming noise) but the starter won't turn the engine over, you don't have enough charge on the battery. Fresh battery with no load should read around 13 volts, 12 is marginal, and 10 is dead.

thanks for the info Ill try charging the battery and see if that works ...

I appreciate the help as soon as I charged the battery fully the bike started right up.. I took it for a little spin weather is nice now I have to get back to cleaning it again...
