Default First and second sometimes clicking??

When I take off from a stop I hear a clicking noise as soon as or while I let out the clutch. If will also sometimes occure when running at low RPM's in first or second gear but it isn't a click anymore but I can feel a vibration or rubbing. Kinda confused and wondering what parts of the bike this would be. Is there a slipper or could first and second gear be wearing out or the clutch? When riding I can get on it in all gears and it shifts real smooth, just at the beginning. Once it stops and I am moving the bike runs perfect and powerfully. Anyone have an idea?
Thanks

there was just a thread about possible valve ticking that ended up being the cam chain tensioner but I dont know if these fail on your bike....maybe something to look into

to find out if its the clutch or not (prob not) run up to 10 or 20 so MPH and put it in 5th gear and give it power you will be albe to fell it slip if its the clutch (but I'd put money on it not having anything to do with the clutch)

does this "rubbing" & "vibration" make a sound? (other then the clicking)

If the clicking sound goes away which it sounds like it does when you get into higher rpms then it's your cam chain tensioner I just got one the other day for my Kawi. I was going to do a write up with pics for people on how to swap em out.

give us more info..... on sound and vibration

From what you guys are saying your probably right about the cam chain tensioner. It sounds like a chain is slipping or trying to catch grip. It always goes away and if I push the bike a bit the sound doesn't hardly happen. Bike has not lost power as far as I can tell. It still is very powerful through all gears. THe noise only happens when I get below 20mph and that is when I am in 1st or 2nd. How much would a dealer charge to fix? Anyone know? Does this mean I need a new one? If I am pretty handy can I do this myself?
Thanks for the advise so far

Do it yourself plan on spending $50 and 2 hours it's really easy. a dealer would prob charge 250-300.

If your actual cam chain slipped from the cam gears and you lost time, there is a possibility you would have piston to valve contact, which obviously is not good. At the very best case, your bike would have absolutely no power and might just shut off.

What it sounds like to me, is that your motor is just lugged and over-loaded. That clicking noise is probably spark knock/pinging/detonation, whatever you want to call it. That would definatley make a pinging/rattling noise, and cause your bike to vibrate, and would most definately go away once you relived some of the load on your motor by revving up to a higher rpm.

Cool, that would definitely help me since I'll be doing mine within the next week or so. I look forward to it. Thanks CC!
