Sauna
Anyone use it much?
I have become addicted to it at our local gym, usually do 30 min at 190 degrees after a workout, then I take an ice cold shower let my heartrate get back down and sit in there one more time. Feels so good to sweat like that, now I want to build my own for my house.
Sometimes I just take a bike ride late in the evening to the gym just to sit in the sauna.

I used to get in the one at my old gym all the time. Loved it. My current gym does not have one.

well right now in Texas its getting to be that time where every car doubles as a sauna, and every seat belt buckle doubles as a branding iron. That being said I never was a big fan of saunas.

I only go in there if no one else is. We're getting a steam room too.

It is definetly not for everyone, some people can only last 5 minutes and cant breath, but I like to stay in for about 20 to 30 minutes at about 200 degrees, towards the end your just sweating like crazy, it is pouring out of you, then hit a cold shower. For me anyway it is pretty relaxing.

I love 'em, but not the best thing for when you're trying to put on weight. I can sit in there for ages, I try to make sure I get out when or before I start getting light headed

Do you really lose weight just sitting in a sauna?

Does sauna really make you loose weight (as in real fat weight) at all? (just curious ... thfc1799 seems right to me)
I've never tried it tho. I definitely wanna give it a shot some time and see how it feels.

*COUGH* Sweden? *COUGH*
You're right though, can't wear anything in the sauna, it's against the sauna code! lol There's actually a lot of sauna etiquette that westerners aren't aware of. You're not supposed to swear, talk politics, stare at anybody, etc.
And you're not naked in a sauna, you're nude. And if you bring a girl in you better not be having sex in there (who the hell wants to have sex in near boiling heat???). Also I don't want to sit on anybody's bodily fluids... it can be very nice to sit and relax and wash each other though.
I'm usually pink by the time I come out of the sauna!
