diet and easy don't usually go in the same sentence, but an easy way to get towards a better diet is to be aware of what you are eating.
A home made meal with vegetables, pasta/rice and meat (chicken or lean beef or fish) is a better dinner, nutritionally speaking, than a dinner at any fast food restaurant. Eating a bowl of cereal and an apple or banana for breakfast instead of those pastries or muffins or an egg mcmuffin... even eating subway for lunch instead of mcdonalds is a good start. The less processed the food is the more nutritional value it's going to hold, so the more you can eliminate higher processed foods the better off you will be.
Obviously, you don't want to eat a lot of fat, and it's usually fairly obvious what has high levels of fat... but things that give you a quick dump of carbs can be just as bad because if you aren't using that amount of energy at the time, the excess will be stored as fat anyhow. An apple is better than a candy bar... duh. Anyhow, i'm sure if you sat down and thought about it and tried to keep yourself in the moment when you eat, you would start to make more conscious decisions about what you are eating and how much you are eating, you will see more of those pounds shed.
A couple of other things to remember... the first fat pounds lost will be much more noticeable than the later pounds.. this can cause discouragement. And, your body will adjust to workloads so you certainly want to change up your workouts to give yourself the best results.
good luck
