Anybody use the fitness product called the Perfect Pushup? Somebody told me Walmart had them for $20. For that price I thought about getting them. I don't want to completely waste my money and was just wondering if they actually do give you a better workout that regular pushups.

i haven't used it before ... there was a guy (actually a beast) i went to navy "A" school with who was going to special programs and he used these all the time ... this guy was a stud ... bonafide stud.
it seems to incorporate all the actions of the pectoralis major (and minor) ... the pecs are not only used to bring the arms into the center line of the body (adduction), but they are also used to rotate the humerus ... this perfect push up seems to incorporate both actions of the pec major in one movement. for $20, i'd get 'em.

Yeah... I was wondering the same thing. I have lost about 20 lbs over the past couple of weeks and all in the right places of the mid section and love handles. I saw the item at walmart and thought about buying it, but I was wondering if it was just another gimic tool to get your money or if it worked. I'm probably going to buy one on the next payday and start back at working out regularly again. I've put a lot of my life on hold for the past 2 years and its time to get it back going. If no one currently using one answers this thread, I'll give you a response to if it works or not.

I just ran to Walmart on my lunch break since it's close by. Sure enough, they had them for $20. I picked up a set, so I guess I'll find out how they work.

saw them and used them at sports authority and they seemed cool but it all depends really on what you want.
Recreational user who doesn't really have time to go to the gym and just wants to get into better shape and not really looking to be like the guy on the box-----great go for it
Gym buff who is looking to be the next godzilla------ more of a fad item that might lead to dissapointment
I will say one thing though I was suffering from a mediocre shoulder injury when I tried them out and it does relieve a lot of stress on your shoulders with the rotation.

I'm always a skeptic when I see the next Jimmy Tango's Fat Buster program, but these look like the real thing.
Post up a review when you can. I'm interested, but still a skeptic.
First off, I know my limits. I haven't really been to a gym for 5 or 6 years so I'm not going to start off by overdoing myself just because I think I can do 50 pushups....I really don't want to be in agony for the next 3 days. Been there, done that.
These come with a workout schedule like alot of exercise equipment does. I started on the level that I knew was appropriate. Even with the first couple pushups I could tell I was working different muscles than what I used doing regular pushups. I don't know if these are what they call the stabalizing muscles or what, but there was way more muscles involved than primarily my pecks. After doing my sets and reps, I felt like it was a decent workout for my first time. I could tell I had a workout, but didn't feel overstressed.
Now today, 24 hours later, I have some areas that are a little tender still, but in a good way. It kinda feels like the area on the front of my shoulder is what's "felling the burn" right now. That's the area that felt a little different yesterday when I was doing the pushups.
My buddy got some the same day and tried them out. He said that he has had some wrist pain in the past from doing regular pushups but didn't feel nearly as much discomfort when using these. I've never really had the wrist pain so I can't comment on that.
Well, that's it for my first time use. We'll have to see how they are after a few weeks. I'll try to comment on them again. So far I'm pretty optimistic about these and glad I got them.

been looking at these too and couldnt decide on the basic($20 plastic) or the original($40 better build/half metal) i will be adding resistance bands to it, or a weight vest. pushups have been hurting my wrist when i go down now

You know, i've seen these commercials too and they certainly look cool. Gimmicks aside, it would be cool to see these in action on a MEG. If anyone has access to their schools physiology or kinetics lab or know anyone who could test these, I have some of my regular push up charts around I would love to compare.
