Default Powe lifting...

Anyone here on the board works out? I'm trying to get back into lifting again. Not easy since I've been out of the gym for a long time. If you do happen to lift. What is your training schedule like?

me and my dad do a split routine. We go everyday and start out with cardio some raquet ball or tread mill. then one day we do pushes, chest shoulders and triceps. Next day is back, biceps and legs. Abs are everyday. I like it alot. Less time at the gym per day. The best part it lets you get a good work out, if i try to do everything in one day by the time I get to whatever my last group is i'm to beat to really get the best workout, and you can spend more time on each part of the body and really rip your shit up it feels great in the morning.

thare is a thead here in teh open forums about health and fitness i think some people are talking to the mods about maybe getting a health and fitness section, it seems like everyone thought it was a good idea.

Big difference between powerlifting and bodybuilding. I am somewhere between a normal gymrat and a bodybuilder.

My split is low volume high intensity. In 3 days i get every body part and cardio.

Right now, I'm doing... back/biceps chest/triceps and shoulder/legs.
I'm actually heading out right now. Today I'm doing Lat pull downs, rows and shrugs. Then some preacher curls, standing barbell curls and then some seated dumbbell curls. Afterwards, i work out on the forearm to improve my grip.

I'm more into power lifting then body building. Once I work myself back into shape, I'm just gonna stick to doing core exercise.

I have never believed in only working certain muscle groups at differnt times, as far as I have ever went with that was to work my legs at a different day than my arms, generally I think its a good Idea for a good looking body. However if you want true strength then you must learn to use all your muscles in conjunction with one another.
Most wieghlifters will not do good on physical jobs, mainly becouse they are not used to using there muscles together, which is the difference between power and strength.
Personally I will excersise untell my body is unable to respond, then I know my workout is over.

The reason for working different body parts on different days is that you are able to get a good work out on all your muscles. If you were going to do everything in one day, the muscle group you chose to do last would all ready be tired and would result in a bad workout.

As in you wouldnt do them?

For powerlifting, theres no need for ab workouts, this is just for circuit.

I don't really power lift or bodybuild, I do more of a toner workout. I basicly do moderate weight, 10-12 reps, 3 sets. You maybe don't want to hear from me since I'm not "power lifting" but here's my workout anyways:

Monday: Upper body - pretty much all the muscle groups
Tuesday: Cardio (jog or bicycle in spring, summer, fall - tredmil in winter)
Wednesday: Legs
Thursday: Cardio (same as Tues.)
Friday: Upper body - same muscles as Mon. different workouts besides bench press
Weekend: Rest - jog or biking if I feel like it.
Abs I do Monday, Wednesday, & Friday

Let me know if you want any more details on my workout, like I said you prolly don't care but thought I'd throw my $.02 in there.
