I think only K6-K7. I'm not sure if that is the only one's for a 600 but, I'll try to confirm.

K6/K7 600's are the only years that have S.E.T. valves. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right, except that the 1k has had the SET valve since '03 (K3-K4).

The 1k's have had S.E.T. valves since 2001 MY+.

The Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) system with a servo-controlled butterfly valve is to modify back pressure and tune the pipe to match engine rpm. It improves low to mid range performance. More torque for the street.

Actually, they had EXCS (Exhaust Control System) in '01-'02.
Which consisted of the EXCV (Exhaust Control Valve), and the EXCVA (Exhaust Control Valve Actuator) and the cables.
Yeah, they just shortened all that to S.E.T. in '03.
In the '03 Service Manual they specifically refer to it in the 'Noise Emission Control System' section.
It does nothing for power except eliminate the need for a more restrictive, quieter exhaust system to pass EPA requirements.

My bike feels so much better at low RPMs since I disabled the SET valve. It is quite noticeable. And everyone comments on the sound now.

Good question...
For those that can't figure it out, the next thread will be - 'How to put gas in your tank'. Or, 'Where to sit on a sport bike'.
