1999 GSXR 600 worth???

What is a 99 GSXR 600 worth around TN? I am looking at one in good shape with title, never dropped or wrecked...it has exhaust, smoked screen, helmet, new tires, and front and rear braided brake lines..don't know the mileage as of yet. He said that he has just had a new 1500.00 paint job. He is asking 5000.00 for it...how does that price sound?

Unfortunately custom paint doesn't really add value ot sportbikes. It could even hurt the value (I know show bikes and Harley type bikes make be different). You also didn't mention miles, condition of tires, brakes, etc... For $5,000 it should be perfect b/c its on the high end of whats reasonable for a 5 year old 600cc bike. Somewhere between 4-5 sounds fair from what I have seen people in my area paying. But then again Im not in TN... Why not go to NADA and agree on a proce somewhere in between dealer retail and trade in.

i was thinking about letting my 2004 gsx-r600 for 6500 firm. 3k miles on it. -1+2 geared. never wrecked abused. so i'd think people would rather spend 1500 more right?

4k tops?

I wouldnt pay that much. Its soon to be 6 years old.... Paint jobs detract from price.

$4k in pristine condition.... I mean *perfect*

Since it's been repainted... it's no longer perfect, IMO.

Think about this for a second. A brand new 600 costs roughly $8000. This bike is six years old and he wants $5000 for it.

Riding isn't only about the scratching on a Sunday morning. Sometimes it's about the 400 mile ride on Saturday to get to where you'll be scratching on Sunday morning with a 400 mile ride home that evening.
