Wow...so ummm whats new folks?

Welp some of us old schoolers still around. I recently went and did the "enduro" scene with an old 95 DR650...but ran into a sweet ass deal (we can still say sweet ass right?)

2006 Suzuki Hayabusa with just 9k miles...$3400. It is a great bike-Bought it in Laredo, Texas. I sold my ZX14 (too many damn electrical issues) and my ZX10R (like a rabid wife) and got this bad boy.

How are the peeps here? We lose anyone?

Yup, pretty dead 'round here these days.

Nice 'Busa. I'm currently in negotiations on an '03 SV1k with 5400 miles on it. Gonna keep the F4i and the baby Bandit.

Not too many still posting on a regular basis. Hard to believe after how it was only a year or two ago. I guess I'm SOL since I refuse to Facetoob. Oh well, come spring I'll have more time to ride.

So where is the general sportbike community online these days? I'm in the process of finding a good 600 to upgrade from my r3, and I don't really want to go to a bike specific board until after I actually have said specific bike, lol. I can't find a heavily active forum for the life of me.

Btw that is a great deal on the 'busa, no way in hell I could get that price up here in MA.

Not sure what to tell you. Some people say their local boards are still fairly active but that's not always the case...both of the locals here are as dead as this site.

Not a lot of active bike boards here in MA, and the ones with activity are cruiser related.

Certainly sucks, forums have always been the best place to acquire knowledge from more experienced people.

The model specific boards I visit remain pretty active, although they pale in comparison to what they were before. There used to be three big Mexican motorcycle forums, the biggest one shutdown a while ago, the off road oriented one is going throuhg a revival but had been shut down for a couple years now, and the other one hasn't had a post in the main forum for a couple weeks. I see more posts on facebook from some of that people than on the local boards.

How is the engine heat? A friend had one and hated it because of the engine heat. I'd love a 1st gen Hayabusa, the torque from a big bore engine is intoxicating.

Go soothingly on the greasy mud, for therein lies the skid demon.

Garage
Nice new bike. I'd love one for a sport tourer, but the insane insurance here in Ontario would murder me.

A better question would have been "We keep anyone", sadly

I think a number of people on the /r/motorcycles section of Reddit. It's full of retards though so I don't follow it at all.

Susser

Doesn't seem too bad, then again we are in Feb in South Texas. One thing I didn't like about my ZX14 was the heat as well. As for power...175 hp is pretty much what I had in my ZX10R...cept it was about 120lbs lighter. This thing has a power commander 5, 4 into 1 brocks exhaust and is peppy as hell. I kinda love the stability of it. The heat issue will have to come in summer...which we ALL dread in south Texas.

Good seeing you carnal.

600's made the Busas look like jokes. Hell an old 636 made an R1 look like a joke but to spend 15k (or more)on a new bike..the joke is all in the rider.

I moved to the north where all the "good riding" is, and reduced my miles per year to a third of what it was. What I've been able to do is pretty nice, but the availability sucks.

I still drop in, but find little reason to post. Maybe I should, just to keep the chatter going.

I like the 'Busa in black! I was gonna say, "It looks sharp!" but really those bikes always look half-melted to me... Enjoy!
