According to Solomoto.es

Yamaha R1 2015, ya queda menos | Solomoto

- Double clutch transmission.
- Electronic clutch.
- Obviously, quick shifter.
- Electronic suspension (dunno if semi active)
- Bosch MSC - same one used on the KTM 1190 which includes:
a. Traction control
b. ABS
- All led ligting
- OLED display
- Sumitomo monoblock brakes.

- Two versions, the high end will come with Öhlins suspenders.

Looks like Yamaha is preparing to trump over the competition.

Granted the way a bike rides should be the only thing that matters for a motorcycle, this is definitely NOT a design you come up with for a long awaited tech upgrade. This thing looks like shit. Now it needs to ride like a dream to compensate for its obnoxious looks. Once upon a time the r1 used to be the epitome for sex on wheels. They brought that to a sudden stop in a single generation. Quite an accomplishment in its own right.

Hmmm, with all the magnesium, and other weight savings, i wonder if reliability will suffer much.

while i don't normally notice the ascetics of bikes much, even i think that that whale tail looks silly; and i am a bit skeptical about if their headlights are practical.

over all though, i think it sounds interesting.

if it lives up to its hype, and god is their a lot of hype for this bike, i will be impressed.

(living up to its hype for me would mean, electronics that work.. well, no reliability issues, performance specs that are at least close to the brochure specs (~170 hp or so). )
