The OP wants his alarm on all the time which means he needs amp/hrs capacity not to be confused with cranking power. This rules out every Li ion battery on the market while they might match Lead acid in cranking power they never have the amp hr capacity.

There is a thread on advrider where a guy had his shorai battery completely melt down in his KTM. He had just ridden it the day before and no tender. I have heard both good and bad stories. I'll stick with AGM style. Never had a single issue.

The Shorais seem to get pretty mixed reviews on the Ducati forums as well. Some love them, some have nothing but problems. I'll have to ask my buddy what brand his was, but I know it was NOT cheap. I know this because he was super pissed to spend 3-4 times the money for something that turned out to be a complete piece of shit.
