Bike got smashed:(
Hey everybody, been having some bad luck with the bike lately and i figured id see what everyone on here thought i should do. I parked my bike in my girlfriends driveway and she smashed into it backing out. It cracked the fairings on the side it feel on and also knocked off the "lip" thats under the ram air. The headlight stopped working and now everything is just loose as far as the headlights and fairings go. It is a older bike, 2002 zx6 that ive had for 2 years and has about 26k miles, so im not sure how i should go about fixing it. My 2 options are to find some new/used fairings and take it to the shop to get the headlight and the front stuff fixed. Or take off the fairings and throw a single headlight on the front to make it a street fighter type bike. Im really not into the whole street fighter look, it was too pretty before. But i also dont want to spend $1000 to fix a bike thats worth maybe $2000. I guess my question here is what do you think i should do? Is it hard on the bike to not have the fairings on? and does anybody know a place to get a fairing set at full price? All replies are greatly appreciated, i just want my baby back.

So your girl friend ran into to it... Caused $1000 in damage and you're paying for the repairs...?
Why?

This, GF or not, she ran into your bike and she needs to make good on it. Accountability, no way around it, sorry.

Which third grade class are you guys in? Holy shit, too funny. I would pay money to watch some of your wives/girlfriends read this thread. :::rolling pin to the head:::
Sounds to me like if he claims it on her insurance, they'll total the bike and he's bikeless. Or he was just on some other messageboard two weeks ago talking about how he keeps his bitches in line and therefore wears no pants in that relationship.
Streetfighter it. Streetfighters are cool. Get some risers and handlebars as well.

After PIIHB, ebay some fairings and get a service manual and fix it yourself, you'll get a warm fuzzy knowing you took care of it yourself....make her buy the parts, too

Claim it on her insurance, let em total it if they want to. At least that way you get the market value of the bike and can shop for another one instead if being out the money for repairs plus having a bike worth less than what the insurance company would give you.
