That would be sweet. I love 250's and this is a step in the right direction. What manufacturers don't realize is that less is more in a tight economy and new riders don't want to spend too much on insurance and such. Suzuki would be the only odd man out being that they currently don't have a 250.

That would be pretty cool, but I am certainly not going to expect inverted forks and dual rotors on the front.

4 cylinder would be cool but expensive. They could easily let the motor from the WR250R/X make 35-40hp if they allowed it to breathe and rev out some more like its parent motor (pre cross-plane R1).
On that note, they put the good stuff on the WR250R/X. Adjustable suspension, inverted forks, aluminum frame, good brakes, etc... They could do the same for this lil thing....

...and then it would cost $7000 and nobody would buy one. See the WR250R/X, with an over $6500 price tag. They sat around for years at the dealerships until they started trying to unload them. Don't get me wrong it's a great bike with tons of potential and I love mine, but most people don't realize how fun it is. I don't see many people lining up for $7000 250cc streetbike, especially when a ninja 300 costs $4800.

Oh I agree. That might fly in other markets where there are cc limited licenses but not in the US.

The reason for the R4 is probably to let us euros know its going to be a 4 stroke . As everyone expected the R125 to be a 2 stroke .. and then we was all dissapointed .

Well in Europe Yamaha has a 125cc four stroke version of the R6 that has many of the R6 styling cues. One wonders if they will simply bore or stroke that engine significantly. As I recall it is a single. I doubt that they will put radial brakes on it - but if they do some parts bin engineering - perhaps using the 125cc frame, they could have themselves a pretty neat little ujm/sportbike.

And its not a bad little 125 ,,,, but ,, The aprilia RS125 tears it a new arse in every department .. apart from rebuild frequency .. But the RS can be rebuilt in an afternoon by a spotty 16yo on his mums kitchen table .

My first thought is it is a silly move to come out with a 250 after kawi puts out a 300, but im all for another bike to race in the 250 class.
