It's not an SV650 unfortunately. The SFV650 has always been the designation for the Gladius. They just dropped the name Gladius and stuck with SFV650, it appears.
It's too bad though. I don't know what Suzuki is thinking. The SV is a WAAAY more popular bike than the Gladius ever will be. They should scrap the ugly Gladius and bring back the SV (but fix the shit stock suspension).

A friend of a friend rides a Gladius...
Every time he comes riding with us, the Gladius is the bike that gets the most attention from females.
And honestly, I really can't understand why people hate it so much. It has a wider powerband than the 2nd gen SV650, not more peak power, just a wider powerband. It also handles better than both generations of SVs.

That's an opinion I have never heard once in my life. I've also never seen a gladius at the track. And I've seen someone racing a Hyosung.

It's a neat bike. I'm guessing that they can't do the alloy frame for the cost target, which @ $8k might be a little bit high with so many good SV's available on the used market.

I just think they are uglier.
I would have to look at them again closely to remember WHY I saw thought that- but there was something specific that really made me go "ugh"
should just bring back the SV itself with upgraded suspension. it would be so wonderbar.

SFV =/= SV. Pretty sure it is a different bike....It had a steel chassis.....and 8k for that? HA, no thanks.

Don't shoot the messenger, was just saying they changed the name.
