The only new rule I don't like is the three wide formation on the grid, other than that, good changes.

To be fair to Biaggi, Laverty finished ahead of him, he wasn't able to slow down fast enough to let Biaggi by. Biaggi won without having to pass Laverty by half a point, making the pass would have made it 3.5 I believe. There was a race earlier in the season where Laverty let Biaggi by, but then Laverty sunk like a stone anyway and got passed by several others suggesting Biaggi could have passed anyway.

Must be pretty embarrassing to Ducati that in one of the first real world racing tests of their brand new bikes the engine implodes in a dramatic fashion...
Just saying...

I recently read a road test of the 1199 in a mag, the test review was really good but then while just riding down a street the engine randomly exploded and shot a quarter size hole in the oil pan.

The person with the most points at the end of the season is the "real champ." If it was about who should get it and what team orders were in place for one to win, a good percentage of the titles would have to change hands. It is what it is, and you can't belittle the achievements of someone because you can't handle the pressure of being in a tight title contention (Melandri).

I wonder if ape will even be front runners when Carmelo institutes an engine rule.

They may be even better off. Most magazine reviews show the Ape posting the fastest lap times. I think they just need to really stretch the motor in SBK form to keep up with the modded inlines. I honestly think the changes will hurt the Japanese bikes most, pushing them even further from WSBK

i think he is referring to possible engine allocations, I heard that Biaggi went through over 40 engines last season(2011).

Yes I know. The engine limit means the bikes will be slower as they wont be able to push them to the limit. Ezpeleta already said he doesn't want WSBK to be faster than CRTs like they are now. This is how he accomplishes that goal.

I think CRT should be allowed unlimited rebuilds. Give sbk 12 motors a season.
But yeah that's exactly what I was referring to.
