Is it just me or does it seem like Cal is always speaking in riddles or in an offhand manner. I honestly have no idea what that tweet (twit, twat?) meant.

Sarcasm is hard to get across in a tweet or text message. It's hard to tell what he really meant by that..

I don't know how i feel about about Suzuki being denied to come back to MotoGP unless they commit for 3 years just to be in line with the other companies. On one side, your forcing a company to stay in a competition that they may not be able to afford to stay in, and on the other side, you are trying to not allow flip flopping in and out of the competition (or lack thereof).
And ironically, the smartest company I have seen so far is Kawasaki. Sure they dipped out a long time ago, but the money they saved from GP they got to use to improve their market line and look how well that is going for them. Ninja 300, Ninja 636, Ninja 10R and the new Hypersport king Ninja 14R. So when i heard that Suzuki was dropping out of GP i was pretty sure they were going to go the same route that Kawi did. I like the GSXR line and all, but the Busa needs an update and the SV line needs to be brought back to life. Hell I was even hoping for Suzuki to shock everyone and make an SV 250/500. Yes a beginner sportbike with a V-twin engine.

Suzuki has been told to forget plotting a MotoGP return unless it is willing to commit to running a new factory effort until the end of the 2016 world championship at least.
The Japanese factory temporarily suspended its MotoGP project at the end of last season, citing the impact of the global economic crisis for its decision to withdraw.
Suzuki management though confirmed its intention to return with a new 1000cc project in 2014 when a delegation met MotoGP boss Carmelo Ezpeleta at the Brno round in the Czech Republic in late August.
Suzuki though intended to only agree a one-year deal for 2014 before assessing whether it was viable to race on.
But Ezpeleta has confirmed to MCN recently that a one-year commitment is not acceptable and if Suzuki did return, he would insist on a minimum three-year agreement to bring them in line with current five-year contracts in place with Honda, Yamaha and Ducati that expire at the end of 2016.
Ezpeleta said: “They want to come back in 2014 but there will be a minimum period they will have to commit for. They asked about the possibility of coming back for one year and we said no. We have an agreement with the existing manufacturers for the next five years. If Suzuki wants to be back they will have to commit for ’14, 15 and ’16 and be in line with the other factories.”

Suzuki could just do what Kawasaki, Aprillia and BMW did, create a CRT team to develop without the extended commitment.

And care more about their customers.
But what was more interesting on that page wasn't the article but the comments below talking about how Honda is pretty much making the rules or bitching until the rules are changed in a way that gives them an edge or is in their favor. Not sure if true as i don't get to watch any races except when i walk into a cyclegear store.

honda has the deepest pockets, so if they can spend more money then everyone else, then they win.

To be honest, I am more excited about the Valencia test than the Valencia race.
