Well deserved.
I was starting to get mad at him once again for snotty remarks...but damn I'm going to miss seeing him ride. Honestly, I hadn't realy thought about it until last race...but yes, his riding will be missed.
Definitely one of the greatest in my opinion.

Never cared about him and never will but that's definitely a well deserved recognition. He's a truly talented rider.

I wish he'd stick around just to keep lobbing hand grenades at Dorna. Lord knows someone has to...

One of the greatest? Yes.
I hope he is back by '14. Would love to see him at the pinnacle once again.

One of the greatest of course. The way it looks now he will never be THE greatest. It would not suprise me if Rossi added a little more distance in that race next year.

One of the greatest, and still full of sour grapes.
Now he's whining about a racer in a series he hasn't even entered yet.

Time will soften his distaste for the "GP system" and allow him to come back on what he thinks are his own terms. Love the guy or hate em the mutha can ride and I will miss watching him.

The interesting thing about Stoner to me is that it seems like the thing he apparently dislikes the most about GP racing-that is, dealing with the media circus-is also the thing that I think gets him the most crap from the world at large.
If he'd just stop talking to reporters, he'd probably be happier, and the rest of the world would probably focus on his stellar riding instead of the latest blunt remark he made.

yup one of the greatest!
it's sad that people care more about his off-track personality than what he delivers on the track every time he suits up

It's sad that this day in age people seem to disregard a persons' character just because they have a particular skill or are able to achieve some particular goal.
A persons' character is much more important than the skills he possesses.

And we have to see that character every time an individual gives an interview, etc.
There's a certain cosmic order to things.
Character is important.

As I have said before, a racer's job is much more than winning races. It is also about how they represent the sport and those who have hired them to sell whatever it is that they are selling.
