Why do 'MOST' Harley riders not wear gear...

Just curious...it was like 50 here today and I seen a guy riding a harley with jeans and tank top and a half helmet. In 50 degree weather that is nuts. 9 times out of 10 most non-sport bike riders seem to not even wear a jacket when riding esp in the summer. Is it more of just a style thing, I mean I understand your not dragging knees on a Harley(well hopefully not lol) so its not as aggressive as riding a sport bike but still the biggest danger on the road is cage drivers, not the motorcycle rider..Just curious...

Very true, never thought of that, 2 drinks the whole night is my limit if I ride but granted I am at the same place for 4-5 hrs before I even leave so its like having nothing to drink aty all...Shorts and sandals are sportbike squids. My gf lives about a mile from me and I wear full gear when i ride there with the exception of my boots and she says I am nuts BUT you never know when some a hole is going to pull out in front of you and your gunna eat shit...

In general most people in life tend to do what others like them have done before. Why do most rednecks drive trucks and wear camo colors (even the ones that live in a big city)? Why do black people like cars with fancy rims and stereo systems?

Most sportbikers buy and use gear because they see the vast majority of other riders do it. Whenever a new kid buys a bike from me i make sure he leaves with a helmet even if i have to take a hit on my commission to make him get one.

Most people who are attracted to Harleys and have seen other Harley riders feel its not needed and most likely the dealers dont try to make them get gear either. They would rather make you buy the extra chrome and vests that put extra profits in their pockets.

If by drag knee you mean pounding beers at the bar you may be correct lol

bc getting the bikes started taxes all available skill and none left over to operate a zipper

It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that is important, in the end.

Didn't you know, when you have to lay 'er down your helmet will catch on something and break yer neck. That's what happened to my cousin's sister-in-law's uncle's buddy.
