Exclamation Which 1000cc should i get?!

The possibilities are endless. I've narrowed it to Cbr1000, r1, Gixxer1000. I know the powers basically the same. But throw me some facts please. Which weighs less. Which has better torque high and low end? I like doing wheelies so if anyone knows which bike is better for those let me know.(Like swingarm differences and different weight distributions) Hope to see this thread fill up!! thanks!!!

1098 r. All the horsepower and twice the torque. Plus: it's damn sexy.

The fact is if you cant do a wheelie on a 600, then a 1000 will be no different.

The ZX10R won the liter bike comparison in the augest 09 issue of sport rider. 9.72 sec @ 149mph quarter mile trumps the rest of the pack, with 161.7 HP, 75.6 ft/lb torque @ 10,500 rpm. It destroyed the Duc 1198 in all aspects, with the kawi recieving an overall score of 91.8 while the duc earned the lowest rating of all the five bikes, an 88.4 (what a shitty bike). Have fun.

Get the one you like to look at every day.

Because they are all going to be great on the street, nobody is riding a modern litrebike to it's max on the road.

Go sit on them at the dealerships, take ones for test rides if possible. Ask a friend to ride their bikes, look on craigslist and test out whatever ones you are interested in. I see alot of ads on the CL saying "test drives allowed with insurance and valid mc license"...

Good luck

I say there's little difference between them; they're all great bikes. So just look for the best price, but be prepared to put in some sweat-equity, too. The liters do sometimes get beat up:
One motorcyclist killed, another critically injured in accident

Police said a 22-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday night when he and another motorcycle rider traveling at a high rate of speed struck a car turning in front of them on Sahara Avenue at Edmond Street.

The man was traveling west on Sahara about 8 p.m. on a 2006 Kawasaki ZX10R along with a 20-year-old man riding a 2007 Suzuki GSXR1000. Witnesses said the pair were doing wheelies.
You can also sometimes find what they call a "distressed seller". You know, "Must sell for bail, so I don't lose my job, apartment, and all my worldly possessions":
Motorcyclist cited for going 112 mph on Route 59

A Naperville motorcyclist was charged with speeding after police said they nabbed him going 112 mph on Route 59.

Police said the motorcyclist was riding his red 2004 Honda CBR1000 motorcycle south on Route 59 near 95th Street about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday. An officer clocked him going 112 mph in a 45-mph zone.
Good luck with your search!

This is just down the road from me. People go crazy on their motorcycles on 59 once the traffic dies down. Which is stupid, since every light is a red light camera and police run radar all the time looking for douches like this.
