Has anyone ridden the Honda Interceptor?
I was just browsing Honda's website and saw the V-4 100+ hp honda intercepter. It's like 750cc and looks like a sportbike to me. Just wondering has anyone here ridden it? looks like a sweet street bike...

I have. It's not a good sport bike because of its weight, but it's pretty good as a sport-tourer for one person.

Yes, and yes it is. Best of both worlds IMO. I'm selling mine if you're interested.

Its actually an 800cc, in its present form its a bridge from a pure present day RR bike to the sport touring world. Also, the rear wheel removal, you dont have to touch the chain or any ajustment or axle , it will spoil you .
But its a more relaxed ride than present day track bike, but it is a front wheel biased sport bike.

They use it in the Japanese police force, which means it's good.

When you look at the difference between Japanese and American training, and the type of riding each does, the statement is made clear.

I've owned three, a '95 750 and an '01 and '02 800cc. It's an excellent sport-tourer though not the best for two-up touring. As for scraping.... it's very capable but definitely not the best. I found the handling of the 4th generation better, actually, than on the fifth (750, 800, respectively). Gas-mileage is pretty good and the ergos are all-day comfy, though I know a fair number of folks who installed Helibars. It's very much a jack-of-all-trades bike, pretty good at just about everything, not the best at anything. Good power, good brakes. In relation to other bikes I've owned the handling is not the most intuitive, but not bad. Crashing them can be very expensive, VFR plastic is not cheap. Put a Staintune on it and the sound is wonderful. Biggest thing to watch out for is the regulator/rectifier. Gear-driven cam whine bothers some, I happened to love it, I always looked at it as Honda's equivalent to a Ducati's dry-clutch rattle. Basically, they're great bikes and tend to hold their resale value.

which should drop the prices of leftover 07 (still a few, still overpriced IMO) 08 and 09 models even further. A leftover 07 VFR is still $1000 more than leftover 08 FZ-1, which is a MUCH better bike IMO and even if you add the lowers will still be cheaper.

There's one near me too, but I still think I'd rather have the FZ1. Though I do dig the anniversary color scheme.
