Default Are there just certain days (holidays) you WILL NOT ride?

I am still a new rider, and I was thinking that no matter what your experience, there's gotta be a lot more drunks/idiots than usual on big holidays, like the 4th of July tomorrow. Do you normally take big holidays "off" from riding?

definitely no, those are prime ride days

I do avoid water area roads this weekend due to the crowds traveling that direction(traffic sukks), but I have no problem getting to prime riding areas where there's very few around. I just bypass those areas

No, I rode into work today and there was almost no traffic at all. I would be carfull riding late at night however there will be drunks on the road.

I got pulled over about an hour ago and got off with a warning. After talking with the officer he was telling me how he had actually arrested a few people riding drunk the past week or so. So its not just cagers that you need to look out for. If the weathers decent Ill still go for a ride.

I just ride extra alert and come home before it gets late during holidays.

I avoid certain areas up in the hills the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas because of all the tree farms. There are many folks who make their one trip each year "up to the mountains" to cut a tree and really don't know how to drive roads with turns.

Beach traffic this weekend will be horrendous so I try to get out early and get home early.

I ride my bike out to the bars on holidays, especially St Patrick's day, with my dark tint visor on. Get shitfaced then cruise around town. (This is where the tinted visor helps, because it hides me from the popo). Then somehow I magically wake up the next day, usually in my own bed, don't remember how I got there, don't remember what I did all night after leaving the bar, only that it was awesome.

This usually works for most secular holidays, but don't count out religious holidays that are closely tied to drinking heavily too.

Just another day, but I do avoid certain areas and/or give a wider birth in around other cars for the holidays were someone is must likely to be drunk.

I had a string of five or six holidays where I either almost wiped out or had something go wrong. It made me quit riding on holidays because of the extra traffic, but lately I've given it a shot without any trouble.

The one holiday I still won't ride on would be Memorial Day. Too many cars, and too many people getting drunk on the river and driving home.

I rode this morning just after sunrise. Ridiculously little traffic. Best ride of the year, so far.
