Default Mich PP 2ct vs. Bridgstone BT16

I have the PP's on my bike now. They are past the wear indicators so I am looking for new tires. I was going to stay with the PP's but my brother said the BT16's have superior grip to the PPs and cost less. Who has had BT16's? How many miles are you getting out of them and are they better than the PP's? Or is there a better tire out there? I would like to get atleast 4,000 out of the rear. Thats what I am getting out of the PP 2ct's. Thanks.

Is your rear tire worn more in the center or on the sides?

If you are getting 4000 miles from a set of PPs then stay with them. They are great tires.

Personally I never got more than 3000 miles from a set of PPs and the CTs had an even shorter lifespan.

I got 2900 miles from the BT016s but I also think they have more grip than the regular PPs and are on equal footing with the CTs.

Either way you are gonna be good to go.

Well another thing I was looking at is that the BT16's are a bit cheaper to buy.

What about the wearing down grip on the BT16's? The PP 2ct's Hold really well all the way down to the threads. Does the BTs get slipperyer or do they hold really nice all the way down to the threads aswell?

wow that seems kinda short. 4000 miles on a 99 sv?

i run pp 2cts also and i can get atleast 5k out of the rear and i run track days. ive got 2 rears and a front of dc3's ready to go when they run out. check them out. good performance and decent mileage.

if its mostly the center of the tire u are wearing out u should consider something more like the pilot road 2ct. u would get way better milage out of them. my buddy runs twisties and he says the grip is good.

I've gotten great street wear out of the Pilot Road 2CT rear.

I had a BT-016 on the rear of the SV for a few track days and can honestly say that the Pilot Power felt a lot better at high lean angles.

i'm going to recommend the Pilot Road 2. unless you're knee dragging, then you don't need a tire as sticky as a pilot power or BT016.

the Road 2s stick great and will probably last twice as long.
