Default My visit to the motorcycle museum (not dialup friendly)

I just happened to be driving through Tamworth, NSW Australia and drove right past a motorcycle museum. Since we were staying the night we went back the next day to check it out. It was a great little museum, the bikes are a private collection and the owner has about 200 more, but floor space limits the show to about 30 bikes at any time.

We were the only two people there, plus the guy running the place, who was very nice. He was there to answer questions we had, chat bikes, made us coffee, and was very friendly.

There were some very rare, very exotic bikes on display. We were free to walk up to them, take photos, walk around, even touch the bikes. They are all in running condition and regularly run, but unfortunately none were started up while we were there.

The view when you walk in:

Back row of bikes lined up:

Some of the more limited bikes up on the platforms:

Possibly my favorite bike there, only because I'm lusting after a Brutale, was a 2000 MV Agusta F4 Serie D'Oro special. Worth about $100k and there are none in the US. I got to touch it and twist the throttle. Very cool.

A vintage Ducati racing bike. It was a 1974 "Super Sport Green Frame", 750cc Imola replica.

The most exotic powerplant on display, it was an older Suzuki rotary engine.

The futuristic instrument cluster, complete with gear indicator.

Next to it was a Suzuki liquid cooled 2-stroke.

And also on display was the famous Honda I6.

It was a great collection of very unique bikes, all of which were ridden and still rideable with interesting history behind them. If you are ever in Tamworth, I recommend checking it out!

Bike porn. I dig it. Thanks for posting.

Leno's got a Suzuki RE. I see one of those pop up from time to time around here on CL.

Cheers
