A truly legendary bike, but I wouldn't pay $50K for one. Even if it was one of the RC30s that Fred Merkel won the inaugural World Superbike Championship with. And watching Fred battle it out with Davide Tardozzi, on his Bimota-Yamaha, is one of my fondest memories...
Cheers

Tottally worth it. RC-45 serial #1 is in my hometown and it has only a mile or two on it as well, never been started. The mileage is just from pushing it around. The local Honda dealer here was the biggest Honda bike showroom in Canada. MY buddies dad owned the dealer and he won a shitload of Canadian Superbike races for Honda. RC-45 serial #1 was given to him for his dedication to Honda Canada and the Race team. He himself has more track records at Mosport for bikes he's built than any other single person. Im pretty sure the bike was insured for $100,000. He used to put it on display locally at the Mall and stuff. He went bankrupt and Im pretty sure teh RC is stashed away in some basemint.

There was an '89 for sale in Miami, Florida roughly a year or so ago for $28,000. We recieved an incredible small amount of these bikes in the states.
One thing to remember they are all the same, so no matter which number you end up buying you are still buying a handmade HRC racer
here's a picture of it actually, one thing I've found odd is the Mugen decal on the bike, Mugen as you probably know is a Honda tuner started by Soichiro Honda's son, Hirotoshi Honda in 1973 I've never seen anything about the company that concerned motorbikes.

In Japan, Honda sells some Mugen themed bikes, I believe they come with some Mugen goodies like exhaust and little details.
Also, I believe in the late 70's, early 80's there where many Honda-Mugen bikes, I remember seeing an enduro (Don't remember which model) being sold on ebay...don't know if Mugen sold a power up kit (Kinda like HRC does nowadays) or if it was built in the Mugen shop.
EDIT: Here's a pic of the CBR1000RR Mugen, it seems like it comes with a full exhaust system, rearsets and a radiator cap (LOL)
