I beg to differ. Being surrounded by quality people makes you quality, as well as making women perceive you being as good as the people around you. I've found that when I am together with other alpha/exciting/fun guys the group collectively raises each other's strengths, and when it is the other way around it lowers each person's subjective status in the eyes of women. The only time it might be better to be with beta guys is when someone feels insecure and needs confirmation of the ego from other people, which is not an alpha thing to begin with.

I think you were trying to say: "If you find yourself secure when hanging out with a group of other people, but insecure when you are not" or "only if you are with a group of other people" then you are a member of the herd. My last sentence merely meant that I feel good whether I am with beta males or alpha males or alone for that matter. You read in too deep and thought that I also meant to say I don't feel good when I'm not with a group of people.

Hanging out with "inferior" people to affirm yourself alpha => not very alpha
Was what I was trying to say. I think you took the statement I was trying to disprove and misunderstood it as being my point.

Also another point was generally when women look at a group of people and they see a guy with a bunch of losers, that does not elevate the non-loser guy. In fact, I think they probably start making judgements on why he is hanging out with losers. When they see a guy with a bunch of cool people, they tend to think he is at least as cool as the rest of the dudes (at a glance). Even if the guy isn't as cool-lookin' as the rest of them.

BTW I'm talking about appearances. Has nothing to do with the actual social status of the person, just the appearance. (aside from the fact that people with high statuses tend to look high status as well) As far as I know, the dorky asian guy in the picture might be loaded with money, or is a small champion power-lifter, or whatever.
