I think its the shoulder pads, it makes you look much more muscular than you really are, plus the whole leather, boots, gloves, gives off a semi-uniform-yet-bad-boy image no woman can resist.
Seriously bikes make picking up girls so much more easier, you skip so many steps and within minutes this stranger you met 10 minutes ago is hugging your back with her hands wrapped around you (close to your crotch) and you've got the remote control to her adrenaline level and you can ride her right back to your place, how much easier can it get?

I was riding thru town behind a woman who had left a box of cards on the top of her car.. they were flying out one at a time... so I pulled up next to her. She looked over and smiled and I pointed to the top of her car and she looked out the right window then back. So I pointed down to the top of her car. She looked again to the right, still smiling.... so i pointed DOWN to the top of my helmet. (ie: HEAD) and her eyes got big and she waved " no thanks" at me.....so this tells you she WAS at least thinkin of sex......and if I was interested ( which I wasn't..............yup), I could have played it from there. Every time I see her she looks the other way now....funnt sh*t....

pfff yeah right you could have played it from there, she already rejected you, what were you going to do, take her back home and lock her up in the basement with the others? I wouldn't have made the connection either, pointing at top of helmet to box on top of the car, you should have made the shape of a box then pointed on top of her car, she would have realized, stopped and gotten out of the car and there's your chance ;)

I sometimes visualize Manhattan as some older guy who is very wise and experienced in life with a very nice, shiny sportbike and who rides very well....who just enjoys yanking our chains and laughing his ass off at what we post about him.

you cant overplay the bike, then they know your using it to pick them up with, you gotta walk into starbucks or something, just seem outgoing and say something funny in line or something and you will get other peoples attention, you having a bike however will probably increase the chance that they want to talk to you, because that makes you stand out.

btw manhattan, please dont take anyobdy on the hayabusa your parents are about to buy you.

There are two huge words that you mentioned that pretty much sum up Manhattan........Starbucks + Hayabusa = Squidly Splatter

Kid is riding a rashed out Ninja, pretty sure his flip-flop colar popped riding style won't last all of 2 days on a Busa.

Well once they come over to you it is in your hands what you do, now you can strike up a conversation with them, ask if they ever been on a bike, ask if they would like a ride sometime, and how about asking if they like to go to diner sometime???? They left it in your hands....and you FAILED.

When I got my 1999 Ninja 250 I was at MSU, I met my wife there, and at the time while we were dating and in front of her dorm one night as I was getting off of the bike and parking this hottie came running over and asked me to take her for a ride, I turned her down...but it does happen. Another time I was in a store with my helmet and the cashier seemed to really dig the helmet and was all smiley, however I was dating (now my wife) so I turned her down.

Most of the time like I said it just opens you up to conversation, it all depends how you handle the situation. As for the comment about the girl just wanting money because you have a bike...LOL Bikes cost nothing compared to cars so I see that as unlikely.

Just because I find it a good story I'll share this here. My father in-law said he once met a women for a blind date. Took her out had a nice dinner. When walking back to the parking lot he asked if he could give her a ride to her car that was parked far away, she said okay. So he led her to a piece of shit rust bucket and said he likes to be economical and not drive expensive cars, she quickly showed her true colors and claimed she would just walk to her car. As she was halfway across the lot he hit his remote entry button and lit up the $60K fully loaded Suburban and got in and went home never contacting her again...she only wanted a guy with lots of money. So in life try this sometime if your out on a blind date and see if the girl is worth keeping.

yea honestly, if a girl comes up to me asking about my bike, I take it more that they want to talk to me rather than about my bike, every instance this has happened I was right, chicks dont just start randomly talking to dudes for no reason, if they ask you about the bike, find a way to talk them into hanging out, that is the easiest situation to get a girl in, they dont come on to people much stronger than that.

I talked to random guys about their bikes...with absolutely no interest in him. When I met my bro's friend for the first time, he got a little annoyed because I ended up drooling over it (he had an RC51 also) and barely saying hi to him.

And to be honest, I don't take guys who ask me to hang out when I'm trying to talk to him about his bike, seriously, because to me, he's just using his bike to pick up girls...(which you are, I know, but you don't have to make it too obvious)

The only one that's worked on me (before I started riding) was when he said, "hey, if you're really interested in riding, let me buy you some coffee and we'll chat some more." Not a question, didn't offer to give me a ride, just a *seemingly* legitimate offer, Assertive, non-threatening, and left the decision up to me. We ended up dating for about a year.

I appreciate all the replies and i'm lucky for not getting bashed like crazy. This is the true side of the community. I know negative things are posted and etc but it's for the better and i fully understand that no one will just hate me and flame for no apparent reason. That's good we have passionate riders and caring members and sure some can get negative but they have their reasons and etc.

But to be honest, i'm not good with the ladies. And also i actually have 1 friend in real life. But i just talk with him occasionally. Otherwise i'm pretty much alone most of the time. Which i have no problems with keeping to myself. I don't have much to talk about anyway.

So yeah pretty much i am Socially Retarded. But i am still a high school student. So i got a lot of growing up to do...I guess..........................

But mainly this thread was about the stereotype and i wanted to hear other peoples experiences with such encounters and etc.

I don't have a bike at the moment because of the subframe and a little more deep scratches on the left side of the frame. spot without the hole. So yeah i'm trying to call them and see what to do from here.

Will i get another 600? Maybe.
