Thumbs down This sucks. Would you wait 30 days for a good deal?

So I sold my CBR about a week ago and I've been looking at RC51s. Yesterday I check out this real nice 2005 with less than 4000 miles on it and I tell him I want it. Guy offers me good deal but says that he still owes $1200 on the bike and he'll pay it off that day and probably get the title in a week. Well i got an email from him last night and it takes 30 days to process a title

There are other RCs out there but this was the one i was set on getting. And man the black looks so slick. What would you do in this situation?

It looks like this bike but without the high mount exhaust:

Give the seller a small deposit and keep looking for a silver/red one?

Can't he just pay it off, get the lien release and give it to you? I'm pretty sure in NYS that if you bring in a lien-release and have the title (with lien still on it) signed over to you, they will issue you a new, non-liened title. I'd think Jersey has similar laws.

If so, the banks claim a lien release takes 30 days, but it really doesn't. I wanted to buy a bike a couple of months ago, but the girl selling it forgot she had a lien on the title. They told her a month, and I was impatient, so I bought a different bike. After something ridiculout like 6 days, she e-mailed me and said the lien release came in the mail. 30 days is just them being conservative, it takes much less in actuality. So I'd look into Jersey's laws and see if I could just get the old title signed over to me and bring in a lien-release from the bank. If so, tell the guy not to bother getting a new title.

That would be awesome if that were the case. Thanks for the info I'll definitely check that out.

And I think I'm gonna hold out for this bike either way I was looking around craigslist and this is a steal.

Lol. I was wondering what the general consensus is on preference of color scheme. The red/silver is nice but the black is just plain tits, especially in person.

I would wait if you are really getting it. My bike was 2g's less than everyother dealer in the country and I had to wait a month for them to have it ready for me. They only had black and silver and I wanted blue and white. Different circumstances but same wait. Shit before that I was getting a yellow one from a dealer in Colorado and they told me they had to fix it up a bit from scratches and it was mine. I waited a good 3 weeks and called to check in and they had sold it under the guy's nose I was talking to. If its your dream bike wait it out brotha.

Thanks man thats good advice.

I just called the nj mvc and they said I cant bring in a lien release cause he has to transfer the title to his name first. So it looks like I'm bikeless for a month unless a better deal comes up...

Yea but you have something to look forward to. In a month you'll be on that sexy ass bike and the wait will be a thing of the past.

When I went to DMV to get my submit my lien release, I got my title in just over a week. You might get lucky and have it quick.

Damn, that sucks, bro.

I think the black looks gorgeous, much nicer than the red/silver. That definitely is a bike worht waiting a month for.

Agreed. I want a Triumph Daytona 675 for my next bike and I'll tell ya right now I would wait 2 months for the right color if I had to. The black on that thing is sickness. Wait it out.
