Default Need Help from US Yamaha Dealer!!

Hello Guys,
my name is Pawel. I recently purchased an R6 in the states and rode it back to Canada. One thing I forgot was a recall letter from the local dealership stating whether the vehicle needs recalls done or not. I know for a fact that it does not, but my government requires this letter. the Letter need to be written by an OEM registered dealership with a logo on the letter.

If anyone works at a Yamaha dealership or has some close relations with anyone that does and doesn't mind faxing this letter in order to help out a fellow rider Please let me know asap, I need to register this baby.

I did call the US Yamaha head office in cali, but they told me it will take about 5 weeks to do this due to legal regulations!!!

please help!!

you should have done that before buying the bike I imported a Subaru 2 years ago, and getting the recall clearance letter was one of the first things I did.

Call the dealer that you bought the bike from, they should be able to help you!

There are lots of Yamaha Dealers right across the border that are probably more used to doing this - you should contact one directly.

what year R6 do you have? most of them don't have any recalls on them that is technically something that is severe and you would defienetly need to have fixed. besides the 06's airbox screws.

it's mostly just service bulletins to the service tech to check out. not anything major.
the 03 had a service bulletin to replace the coils
the 04 had one to check the front sprocket nut torque
the 06 was a buy back thing yamaha issued because the engine wouldn't hit the 17k rpm they advertised.
also the 06 has a issue with a screw in the airbox that need to be replaced.(this one is serious, the throttle can become stuck open)

that's about it.
and since you are the 2nd owner, I doubt you're going to be getting anything fixed free under yamaha's factory warranty. so be prepared to pay for the labor and parts.(unless it's the 06 airbox screw recall)

the bike doesn't need anythig done, I know that for a fact. but the DMV wants this official letter from Yamaha dealer in order to provide me with full certification and registration.
