American Ben Spies awoke this morning to the news that he will officially be a Wild Card rider at both of the USGPs held in the US this season—Laguna Seca and Indy—and also will ride at the Indy USGP MotoGP test this summer.

SERIOUSLY????
I think him and Miladin are only where they are BECAUSE of the internal fire.
Did you see the last race where he passed Miladin at the finish line? Spies came from like 3 or 4 seconds back with less than two laps to go and passed Miladin. (granted Miladin may have eased up, who knows)
I really don't care much for Ben, but I have to give him credit, he is a RIDAH!!!

Congrats to Spies for getting into MOTOGP even if it is for only two races this year. I agree that he needs to find a new ride because suzuki sucks in motogp.

I DON'T THINK HE CARES ENOUGH ABOUT MOTOGP. It's obvious that he is a great racer here in the AMA series. But from every quote I read from him about MotoGP it just sounds like he doesn't really have that "World Champion" dream.
I could be wrong but I've seen a few quotes and that's my impression.

Talent - Check
Drive - Maybe
I see what you're saying, . Do you get that impression because his interviews SUCK? It's like he's playing "too cool for school" or somethng.
I can't stand listening to him during an interview.
Why can't they all interview like Nori Haga??LOL

That's a good point. He doesn't come across as excited about anything now that you mention it.
I saw Brian Dreber interview him live in the Parts Unlimited hospitality area at Barber. I think that maybe he just doesn't like to talk about himself.
but his size in gp could be a bad thing....which is funny cuz i saw him in the pits at fontana a few weeks ago and he is a stick!!! so is mladin and tommy hayden.....
wish this sport wasn't such a jockey size rider driven sport....
