Katana aren't bad bikes to begin on - there are better choices, but the parts are plentiful and cheap, and they are reliable. The only drawback is they are heavy mofos. Comfortable for long trips though.

Well you see I'm not simply buying a bike just for having fun on, it's going to get me to and from work and school, to the grocery store, to the beach on my days off and everywhere else lol
I'm not so much as upgrading in a sense, I'm more than anything getting a much needed reliable mode of transport that also happens to be a blast to pilot.
My car has a failing headgasket (I have to top off my radiator every week for the most part), and a blown strut. Honda did a great job o nthis car as they have with their others, but I simply do not want to pour anymore money into it, especially considering it has a salvage title (I was young and didn't even know wtf that was back then lol) Since I've owned the car I've spent 750 dollars on a new "used" transmission and that's just the cost of the tranny, me and a pal installed it, I've changed out both CV axles, installed a new radiator, etc ... it has 205+ thousand miles, and I'm sure it would go another 100K easily if the headgasket were replaced. But this is my first car, I've had her for roughly 5 years, it's time to say goodbye haha
Without a reliable vehicle I can't get to school or work, and a Ninja 250 seems very reliable, I just can't help but worry about highway ventures on it ... and no, not as in traffic, as in the bike lol can it handle it is what I always ask myself.
