Default Crash and BURN

Time to carry fire extinguishers?

Time to install tank sliders.

DEALS GAP, NC - Late in the day yesterday (Wednesday) there was a rider heading northbound and got into some problems at the 10mm(known as the whip or Bens Brights, pending on the map you are looking at). Said rider somehow fell over in the exit of the turn and somehow lost some gas which ignited a fire. As of 6 pm yesterday, it was only about 10 acres, but this am its well over 50 and still burning. Truthfully, I think its even bigger than that, but I cant say for sure unless I had a helicopter. Either way, this is absolutely ridiculous. I know sh-t happens but this makes no sense. The Yamaha R-6 has an issue where you can easily shave a corner off the tank on a longer pavement slide and then ignite the gas in the tank, but I honestly dont know how this could have happened the way it did. I did see the pictures of the fire as it was fresh and the bike was a Suzuki GSXR(750 or 1000, I dont know). The fire was so hot it melted the swing arm completely, along with a couple other key parts. Suffice to say, this bike will not see another day.

Big ass shunt, or ethnic clensing?

Note that most of the fire was intentionally set by the fire dept, then blamed on bikers, which helps THP justify another crackdown in 2008.

Arson on Foothills Parkway intersection with 129 in 2007 imported contract firefighters from Oklahoma, as a park ranger in his Smokey Bear hat wrote me a ticket for "too much lean" while following a slow car below the speed limit. Rangers don't fight fires anymore.

It's amazing how thin the gass tanks have gotten lateley! Have you seen the latest bikes out there? You lean on them the wrong way and they dent in. And don't even talk to me about the paint! My god one dirty hand can kill the OEM paint job!

...Whoah...you know I have always wondered about the tanks vulnerability on some bikes...just another reason to keep the shiny side up

...The thing that noobs don't get is that bikes aren't cars. With a car, more or less, you're as fast as your wallet allows. A bike is far more skill oriented. Way more. It's like skiing. You could go buy the fastest race skis available, but if you don't know how to ski, all you're going to do is crash. Its the same, exactly the same with bikes.
