I have two helmets a $170 HJC and a $400 AGV helmet.

I used the HJC for about a year and the AGV I've had for a year too.

After wearing the AGV for a while, the HJC feels like a cheap mountain bike full face. The HJC rattles from something that came loose, whereas the AGV feels like there are 6 pillows around my head. It's lighter, quieter, and more comfortable. If I'm going to be wearing something on my head every time I ride, I want something that is comfortable.

I would love to have a $400+ helmet. The comfort is well worth it when the thing is on your head for as much as I ride. Its alot like with buying a car. You can buy a cheap car, that gets you from point A to point B safely, or you can buy a more expensive luxurey one that does the same thing, with the same ammount of safety, just more comfortably.

I think a BMW/Mercedes will have more safety than a Civic.

I think you need a new hobby friend......

I paid under $400 for my last two Arais. You have to keep an eye out for the deals. The last one (Arai Quantum 2) was about $370, from a vendor here on SBN.

I can say that about my $100 SparX S07 vs my HJC AC-11. The cheaper S07 is superior in every way.

Alot of people are gonna come up with anything to justify them spending 4-500 dollars on a helmet that they know they got bent over for

Once you go Italian with your gear you will never go back!
All I can say is that there is nothing more comfy nor more sexy than my Cabert, flip up Trip lid!
My god every one loves the damn thing and it feel so comfy!
Caberg Helmets Trip Flip-front Helmet from MotoBrio Motorcycle Clothing and Accessories

And yes I've face planted at 45mph+ with a flip up lid and it did it's job.
I had a Caberg Justisimo lid that I crashed my brains out on and it did it's job and I'm here today thanks to that lid!

Unfortunatly the helmet doesn't have a DOT or Snell sticker on it. I'm sure it's just as safe as one that is certified but if you're being pulled over and they check it won't count.

With that being said I think I want one of those. matte black pls.

I'm on my second helmet now and I wish I would've suffered with the first one for a little while longer so I could put more money into my second purchase.

It's not bad, by any means, but the NOISE is ungodly loud at 80mph. I'm not being a pussy about it either, but after a nice long ride at some good speeds it feels like I just stepped out of the front row of a Deftones concert.

My first helmet: Cheapo HJC - gave me a headache because I was a newb and thought it had to be a little tighter than it should have been.

Second helmet: Mid-priced KBC - nice and comfy. Vents well so far (haven't got to ride in triple-digit temperatures with it yet), but it's noisy as hell. If I know I'm going to ride for an extended period of time at high speed (legal speeds), I bring earplugs with me.

My third helmet will probably be something smaller, lighter, and hopefully a little more quiet.
