That's ok....a friend of mine bought an SV650S just like yours and wished he'd bought an FZ6 too. I understand....really I do.

Why are you slammin on the beloved FZ6. You fugly slug.
The FZ6 would beat a sv650 on the topend and not leave 3 gear

Some bike are so ugly... you got to civer them with plastic

I dunno why you are hating so much on the naked FZ6 guys.

I think you're just jealous your bike doesn't pull in the poon tang like our naked fizzers do.

that the FZ6 isn't that special?
Agree. I really enjoy mine, but there are other bikes that do the same just as well.

that the FZ6 is ugly stock and uglier naked?
Disagree. I find the FZs/n & SVs/n to be equal. I will say that the FZ tank can look funny at certain angles.

that not everything Ducati makes is the best thing ever?
Hmmm. Well almost, but not quite. Could be answered like Q #1

that MV Augusta has been using the same bodywork for the last 15 years?
Still looks as good as day 1. Beauty never gets old. Example: Ducati 916 is still (and always will be) hot, hot, hot!!!!

maybe trackdays aren't that great and maybe not all of us wanna do them?
I've never done one, but can't wait to do it. I'm sure it will be evrything that I expect and SSOOOOoooooo much more. Yes, not everyone wants to do them. I can't think of a good reason to not want to, though.

keeping your bike clean DOESN'T automatically make you a poser?
Agree. I don't worry about cleaning it too much, but I do like to give it a good rub down. I'm not going to pass up riding in bad weather just because it'll get the bike dirty though. Some of my most rememberable rides are in the wet. (not due to pucker factor either )

Arai and Shoei helmets aren't that great?
They're pretty damn nice. The first time I tried on an Arai, the feeling was comparable to doing a "motor boat" with your favorite girl. All was good in the world, but for that kind of $??????

They protect the same, but are supposed to be lighter, quieter, and more comfy.

I have no problem with the looks of the FZ6 at all....

Don't know much about Ducati. I'd ride one though...esp. the newer models.

I don't understand the disdain about the Augusta. The MV Augusta F4(tamburini) and CC edition are some of the sexiest things on 2 wheels ever IMO. I haven't kept track of their design for the last 15 years, admittedly. Perhaps their designs were so far advanced that they didn't need to change until others caught up.

I'm sure everyone does not want to do trackdays. For them; Starbucks, chrome, and extended swingarms were created.

A clean bike is a happy bike.

Some helmets are better than others.

Hey...we are all entitled to our opinions...but its nice to have a balanced arguement so why not just ask "Whats your opinion of the FZ6" without trying to add your influence into the question?

You might not be the only one, but you are certainly one of very few. My decision for my bike came down to an SV650S and an FZ6. I think they both look great! The FZ6 ultimately won for me because the ergos are a little better (especially for the wife) and it has a little more balls.

If you think the FZ6 is ugly then I wouldn't expect you to like your own SV650S either since they look very similar. So, like a previous poster mentioned, I think you're just lashing out from FZ6-envy. When you buy your next bike (an FZ6) you'll forget all about these thoughts and feel much better.

that the FZ6 isn't that special?
nope. not that special... just unique (but could be improved)

that the FZ6 is ugly stock and uglier naked?
yup it's fugly stock although the newer ones look nice with the oem full fairing, but could be better depending on how you go naked.

that not everything Ducati makes is the best thing ever?
they're not the best, but they're pretty damn good. i want to ride an 848

that MV Augusta has been using the same bodywork for the last 15 years?
never really noticed. they're outta my price bracket now anyway.

maybe trackdays aren't that great and maybe not all of us wanna do them?
i do! i do! i do! i wanna do a trackday. there's a member on another forum i frequent who was straight up hooligan on the streets; hated the ideas of trackdays. had his first trackday this past weekend, now he's saving money and selling crack to make money for another one. i think if you haven't tried it don't knock it.

keeping your bike clean DOESN'T automatically make you a poser?
I dont think there's anything wrong with keeping it clean... as long as your spend more time riding and less time cleaning. i think if your chicken strips are bigger than your swingarm extensions than yes, you are a poser.

Arai and Shoei helmets aren't that great?
i like my shoei. i like arais. haven't found anything quite in their standard. had and AGV and it was adequate. but then again most other helmets are 1/2 to 2/3 the price.
