Default Has anyone tried this alarm? Gorilla Cycle Alram w/2 way paging

It's the Gorilla Cycle alarm with 2 way pager. Now I know that if someone "REALLY" wants my bike, they will take it. But where I live I doubt they are smart enough to turn this thing off, and will flee when the 120db alarm goes off. I am figuring it would deter 95% of thieves. I am kinda emotionally attached to my new bike (it's the one my brother wanted).

It detects tipovers, shock sensors, ignition, and motion sensoring. It's capable upto 1/2 mile away.

And if someone has the alarm that is a supporting vendor, speak up!

guess it's good if you're going to beyond earshot of the siren, having the pager, but i think in most cases, just the siren would suffice. Here's one for $20 Guardian ALARM for Guardian Motorcycle Covers: BIKEBONE Even if you were beyond earshot of the siren, when that goes off, any thief is gonna drop tail and boogy.

btw, I have seen pager alarms with remote start and kill built into them for that price.

I have a scorpion last years model. it has tilt, ignition, sensor, and movement. I have 4 different settings. I have a bike that is not replaceable and has saved my bike a couple of times. I will be putting a alarm on my other street bike later this year.

I have a scorpio. Scorpio Alarms » Home
It does what its supposed to , I don't have the ignition kill but I have the perimeter sensor which is my favorite feature if you get close it starts to beep faster and faster until you leave or the alarm goes off. I didnt get the kill because from what Im told if you are close enough to hit the button on the fob you need to be kicking some ass already. For me it is a little extra piece of mind really, cuz if they really want it they will have it, but the siren should scare them away, I hope.

Don't buy this piece of crap. I got one last year and the siren stopped working after testing it a few times. But the pager still worked. It's a waste of money, a disc lock is a wiser investment.

I was also thinking of getting one of these Gorillas, saw it on eBay for $150 w/ free shipping, but not sure if I should just wait to save up the extra $ for a Scorpio. The disc locks seem like a good cheap alternative in the meantime, some of them have alarms built in too, but I've heard stories of people going to their bike and finding just the front wheel sitting there. Also remember to take it off before trying to ride away hehe!

If you get the disc lock just put a string from the lock to the handle bar. My dad had a pink string on his and never left with it on. Just an idea.
