Also from that link...
License Revocation
Section 322.27, F.S., provides the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles with authority to suspend or revoke licenses for various reasons. These include, but are not limited to, offenses involving death, bodily injury, or significant property damage,22 incompetency,23 license fraud or misrepresentation,24 and passing a school bus unlawfully more than once in five years.25 The Department may also revoke a license for those offenses that specifically mandate license forfeiture upon conviction. As mentioned above, the crime of racing requires mandatory revocation for one year
on first offense, two years if a subsequent offense occurs within 5 years.26
Section 322.27, F.S. also creates a ‘point system’ for common offenses and provides for suspension of a license upon reaching 12 points.27 Reckless driving is currently a ‘4 point’ offense,28 as is exceeding
the speed limit by more than 15 miles per hour.29
Crash Data
Data collected by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles indicates that there were 5,075 motorcycle crashes in 2000.30 This number increased to 8,990 in 2006.31 In 2000, there were approximately 195,300 motorcycles registered in the State. By 2006 the number of motorcycles nearly tripled, rising to 579,275. 32 Data collected by the Department does not make it possible to calculate thenumber of ‘vehicle miles travelled’ specifically for motorcycles, therefore the increase in motorcycle
crashes cannot be compared with the change in miles travelled by motorcycles for the 2000 – 2006 time period.
Proposed Changes
The bill creates a new section 316.1926, F.S. The new section provides that a law enforcement officer shall arrest any motorcyclist charged with reckless driving or exceeding the speed limit by 30 miles per hour, and shall impound the motorcycle for forfeiture under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. The
new section also requires that, upon conviction, the cyclist’s license shall be revoked for a period of ten years. This revocation does not affect the offender’s ability to drive a vehicle other than a motorcycle under a Class A, B, C, or E license.

as a matter of fact, you have a similar law with a lower speed requirement in Canada. google the Canadian "safer roads act". lol. it is also illegal in Canada to be in possession of a "large amount of cash", which is subject to forfeiture if caught, so you aren't actually allowed to pay cash for new vehicles, lol.
Auto, Cash Seizures Add Wealth To Canada Coffers
moreover, "'There is no appeal from, or right to be heard before, a vehicle detention, driver's license suspension or vehicle impoundment under [the street racing] subsection,' the Safer Roads Act states."
so not only is it illegal to carry a bit of cash and you will be charged with street racing for 31mph over, but you can't appeal it. so when i can i show you some realestate?

This is shitty. I've always stopped for police because I have respect for them...but this give me more incentive just to run like everybody else does.
I swear if the people who vote on these laws just RODE on a motorcycle for a couple of months, I bet their opinions would change. When you're a competent rider, and the speed limit on roads is just a fraction of what the bike can do, and well-below what youre capable of safely doing...it's easy to let it get away from you. Shit, SS 600's can do over a buck fifty...ripping up to 80 mph is nothing.
I consider myself a safe and courteous rider--I never tailgate people or lane-split or anything. I ride as if I'm in a car and always keep a pocket around myself. But NOBODY buys a sportbike to ride it and never go above 70 mph. Fuel economy is just the excuse. If you wanted only fuel economy, you'd have a moped.
It's a shame that the public opinion on bikes has SUCH a negative spin on it because of the handful of idiots that choose to lane-split wheelies in the middle of traffic and get in fatal collisions. If you've got a fast ride, you're GOING to open it up now and then, I dont care who you are. IT'S FREAKIN HUMAN NATURE

Hmm. I don't like this new law any more than the rest of you but let's be serious here. Is doign 30 over worth getting a record, fines and a suspended license for a year or more?? No, it isn't. I was fined 900 dollars, spent a night in jail and lost my license for a year because i was doing 94 in a 65. Trust me, it isn't worth it for a minute. Going with the flow of traffic and casually a little faster to avoid a possible sticky situation is different. But It is easy to tell when you doing it to be safe (If it is possible to be safe at any speed on a bike above 80 MPH. That is still a big grease spot) and when your doing it becuase you're on sportbike. Use your judgement, and be safe first and foremost, but stay within the confines of the law as best you can. HAve you ever seen a heroine addict on rehab? that is what i looked like while i couldn't ride for a year. (not really, but you know.)

I rode my bike home with a small ticket for almost doubling the speed limit and I was going around 110mph. I was going to run but I decided to be respectful and stop for the fuzz. I think thats how it should be. There is no reason cops should come at you guns drawn, arrest you, fine you, impound your bike and and lock you up for speeding Shitty laws. Especially for whats considering a normal (although illegal) highway cruising speed in many places all across North America (90mph)

Ohh, and WHY IS IT that every year it seems like the politics get more liberal, BUT the legislation gets more conservative????

Where was this said?? Because I find THAT to be perfectly reasonable.

sounds kind of high(the fine)...i got pulled over at a redlight in Brockville Ont. probly 4-5 years ago in my Trans-Am for 170Mph,in a 100Kph zone...the fine ended up around $120.00 USD...i think the best part of that was the acusation the my D.A.R.E tag was a "false documentation of ownership/registration" cause they had never seen one before
not that that has anything to do with the thread, just reminded me of good ol' times..

Running from the cops is a felony with up to 6 months jail time... you're almost better off losing your bike.
The AMA in Florida should just lobby to get the helmet law put back into place in order to get rid of this law.
