Ticket prices will be discounted for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Laguna Seca if an American wins the opening race of this 2008 season!
I originally posted this in L8 Braker's Qatar thread and am breaking this out in a new thread per his advice. Here is the information I ran across.

MONTEREY, Calif. (March 6, 2008) – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced today a special ticket promotion for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix featuring the MotoGP World Championship. If an American rider wins the CommercialBank Grand Prix of Qatar this Sunday, March 9, the first 500 two-day (Saturday/Sunday) general admission tickets purchased for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will cost the same as the rider’s bike number.
Ticket pricing will be as follows:
- If #5 Colin Edwards wins, general admission tickets are $5
- If #21 John Hopkins wins, general admission tickets are $21
- If #69 Nicky Hayden wins, general admission tickets are $69
This ticket promotion is only valid if an American rider wins, and is for the first 500 two-day tickets sold after 4p.m. PDT, Sunday, March 9. If a rider other than an American wins, two-day general admission tickets will be priced at their normal $80 price.
