Hyosung 30th anniversy edition Gv650
I know there is a hyosung forum, but since this is a cruiser i thought it might go well here.
So 6-7k for this w/ a sportbike Vtwin. Or 14+ for a Vrod that might be a hair slower. lol

Not bad looking.
But you would get laughed off the road with any of the "real cruiser" riders.

I think the Hyosungs are a pretty good bargain for what you get for your $ but a Vrod will blow the GV650 into the weeds.

It depends, probably from Hardley riders, but i doubt any of the other cruisers have room to talk.
How fast is the Vrod? I know they have nicer engines then the others, but i dont know if they are all that fast

Pretty sure the Vrod is pushing at or a little over 100hp. That hyosung is at a claimed 71hp. I like how it has adjustable inverted front forks though...

but whats the a harley weigh?? Shame we can't find performance specs for both. I'd kinda like see how big the gap is in performance. Rather then just speculate

Not to take anything away from Hyosung, but that's like comparing a Mustang to a Corvette... they're in two completely different leagues.

Well, both are 5-speeds. Both are v-twins. The Vrod puts out 84 ft-lbs of torque, 2007 GV650 put out 45.7 ft-lbs of torque. The Vrod looks to put out 123HP for 2008, while the hyosung looks to be putting out 71HP. Dry weight on the Vrod is 637 lbs, while the Hyosung is 485 lbs. I would say that 52 extra hp and nearly twice the ammount of torque the Vrod has over the GV650 will overcome the extra 152 lbs.

Heres a link to a article I looked up that had some numbers on the GV650.I guess I need to retract my statement of the Vrod blowing the Hyosung into the weeds, a 12.75 1/4 mile ET to a 12.26 for a Night Rod would come down to the rider.I ride with a few big bore cruisers like VTX 1800, M109,street rod which is a breathed on version of the vrod with some Screamin Eagle upgrades and let me tell you they are in a whole other leauge from the GV650.I give props to hyosung though this bike is sort of like the Honda Magna 750 a sleeper that will surprise you in the stop light drags.Oh yeah the link mpgmotors.com Blog » Here’s the windup and here’s the Pitch

I like Hyosung for those prices, and what you get. They deffinately are a set of affordable, well performing bikes!

That's even uglier than a V-Rod.

wow, thats pretty damn close, and now there are even bore kits for the hyosung, so it could be potentially built to murder a vrod in a drag race. all for less then the price of the stock harley.

My wife has the 250 Hyosung cruiser that she's grown out of.
She's in love with the 650, and it will probably be her next ride this season.
A friend from the st-owners.com site picked up the GV650 for an "around town" bike, and at breakfast stops it draws a crowd.
