legal to do this? way to payback the bike thieves.
so i remember awhile ago i read this on a car forum (not sure if this is sure) but the car owner was worried that his car would get stolen so he glued razor blades somewhere on the car. car thieves tried to steal the car, got cut and almost bled to death. later the thieves sued the car owner. not sure what happened with the lawsuit.
so if you somehow mount razor blades on your handlebars and the bike thieves cut themselves good. even though they deserve it. if they launch an lawsuit, what are the odds of them winning?
and if they do, does that mean they automatically confess being bike thieves?
Article 108 specifically states that in layman's terms, thieves can sue car owners, but cannot sue the owner of a motorcycle for keeping razor blades on the motorcycle.
I don't have the specifics or an literature to back this up, but this came up on another forum, and one of the guys that was a criminal law attorney came up with a bunch of stuff showing that "Booby trapping" is in fact illegal.
Imagine what would happen if a child were to try to play with your motorcycle and bled to death. Have fun dealing with some type of Manslaughter, or even some type of non-premeditated murder.
I'd say your best bet is to just secure the bike. Also, it depends on what you ride. Hell I have a ninja 250, and I'm pretty positive no one is going to steal it. lol
Back when I lived in the kansas city, I had a few morning in a row waking up to see that the garden hose was left draining water. After the first night I chalked it up to me being careless. The second night I thought "no way, I'm sure I made a point to shut that thing off".
.So on the third night I taped some razorblades on the back side of the knob. I woke up the next morning, and the water was indeed on, but there was blood all over the place. Needless to say, the next morning the damn thing just quit leaking all by itself. I was very proud of my plan. I'd do it again too. Sue me.

Yes, but you aren't allowed to protect you own property. That's what the law and police are for (not sure how you can explain all the theft if the police are protecting us from theft).
How silly of you.
